GALLERY OF LINOCUT PRINTS

Here are some examples of prints I have made through out the years. Differents techniques are shown.

One color prints: The plate is carved, the image obtained is then inked and pressed against a sheet of paper.

Multi colored prints: There are two ways to do so. Either one plate per color, or you can make what is called a reduction or "suicide" carving, meaning you continuously carve the same plate, starting with the lighter color first, you ink and print and move on carving for the next color, gradually adding darker colors until the black. This process implies that you must determine the number of final prints before starting, as you destroy the plate as you go along and can never reprint this design again.
